Working towards a CSCS card? The qualification you need depends on your construction role and the type of card you're applying for. CJT Vocational Skills provides construction NVQs from Level 1 to Level 7 and can help you identify the right qualification pathway for your role and career.

  • Individuals can apply for or renew their CSCS card using the official My CSCS service. Before applying, you will normally need evidence of the appropriate qualification or registration and to have passed the relevant CITB Health, Safety & Environment test within the required timeframe. CSCS advises individual applicants to use My CSCS, while employers, training providers and third parties should use CSCS Online.

  • Need to confirm whether a worker's card is valid?

    Use CSCS Smart Check, the official card-checking service. CSCS Smart Check can be used to verify cards and check relevant cardholder information.

  • The CITB Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) test is an important requirement for CSCS card applications. The test you need will depend on your occupation and the card you are applying for.

    CITB provides three main HS&E test types:

    Operatives – generally for construction operatives and site workers
    Specialists – for certain specialist occupations
    Managers & Professionals – for management and professional occupations
