A Green CSCS card with the title CJT Vocational Skills placed in front of a construction site with workers and scaffolding.

Course needed: NVQ Level 1

This card is suitable for general labourers, site operatives and those carrying out basic construction site duties, and it helps demonstrate that the holder has the essential health and safety knowledge required for site access.

To apply for a Green CSCS Labourer Card, you will need to complete an approved Level 1 health and safety in a construction environment course, or an equivalent accepted qualification. You will also need to pass the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test for operatives. Once both have been completed, you can apply for the Green CSCS card, which shows employers and site managers that you have the basic health and safety knowledge required to work safely on a construction site.
