To apply for a Gold CSCS Card, you will usually need to complete a construction-related Level 3 NVQ in your chosen occupation, depending on the type of gold card required. The Gold Skilled Worker Card is suitable for advanced craft and skilled trades, while the Gold Supervisor Card is for those working in a supervisory role and normally requires a Level 3 or Level 4 supervisory qualification. Applicants will also need to pass the relevant CITB Health, Safety and Environment test. Once achieved, the Gold CSCS Card shows employers and site managers that you have the required competence, skills and health and safety knowledge to work safely and professionally on site.
The Gold CSCS Card is suitable for experienced construction workers in advanced skilled trade roles or supervisory positions. Eligible roles can include advanced tradespeople such as carpenters, bricklayers, plasterers, dry liners, roofers, steel fixers and groundworkers, as well as site supervisors, team leaders, gangers, foremen and working supervisors.
Course needed: NVQ Level 3 or NVQ Level 4
