Construction sites aren’t by nature the safest places in the world. But there’s no reason why with some training, they can’t be made as safe as they possibly can be.
The Level 1 Award in Health and Safety within a Construction Environment (RQF) has been developed for learners working in – or wanting to work in – the construction industry, and will give them the knowledge to undertake their role safely.
The qualification has also been designed so that learners who successfully complete it and go on to complete the CITB Operatives Health, Safety and Environment knowledge test will have fulfilled the knowledge needed to apply for the CSCS Labourer’s Card.

Knowledge of common hazards and risks in a construction environment
Safe manual handling practices
Working safely at height
Working safely around plant and machinery
The importance of effective teamwork and communication in ensuring safe working practices are followed in the construction industry
